Art Deco Sterling Enameled Bar Pin

Art Deco derives from the Exposition Internationale des Arts DÈcoratifs et Industriels Modernes in Paris in 1925. Geometric shapes, Egyptian and Native American, Cubism and some Art Nouveau influenced the design era. Presented, is sterling and enameled bar pin from the 20's/30's. It appears to depict a Native American influence. The very unusual center disk is enameled, in excellent condition. Enamel type appears to be Champleve - in which enamel is poured into designs cut into the metal. Colors are very bold as one can see in close-up picture. Clasp is of a "c" style catch, but an unusual one, more in the shape of a "v". The chasing (engraving) on the sterling is only on the front of the bar, thus it is not a molded or stamped piece. Sterling is stamped on the back, however pin is abent of designer mark. A regret as the design and craft are deserving of recognition. Length measures 2.25 ", height is .25 ", and diameter of circle is approximately .25".
