Many of the stones we are familiar with are derived from the quartz family. Some having distinct crystals (crystalline) and others have microscopic crystals (cyrptocrystalline quartz). Some of the familiar ones that one may be familiar with include: Agate, Fire Agate, Jasper, Onyx, Sardonyx, Tigereye, Chalcedony, Bloodstone, Aventurine, Carnelian, Citrine, Rose Quartz, Smokey Quartz and Amethyst - these are to name a few.
