Glass Beads, Stones and Crystals
Glass beads offer such a wide array of color. Glass is made from natural elements, the main ingredient being sand. It can be blown or molded to form many different shapes. Color is derived from the addition of metal oxides such as cobalt, cadmium, selenium, and gold to name a few during the mixing process.  Some beads are dyed. The combinations are endless!  From the most simple monochrome, to the swirled art glass beads of yesteryear,  and the fine cut stones to imitate precious stones. Just a final note, if you like vintage Czech glass Mardi Gras Beads check out my catagory "Old Mardi Gras"!
